Day Trip

Cane Creek Park
On Saturday, the 27th of March 2010 all the Americans and all the Germans went to the Cane Creek Park.
It is a sort of national park with a lake in the centre and a lot of space for woods and forest. Within the woods there were little places to fish and camp and every now and then there were little playgrounds where kids can chase each other and have a lot of fun.
Mr. Braun had organized all the things we needed to make Burgers and Hot Dogs for lunch. While the teachers were grilling, the students spent their time talking, sunbathing, eating the food, relaxing or inventing games.
Some parents that came along exchanged funny memories they had made with their German exchanges during their stay in Waxhaw.
Since this activity was manditory, almost everyone showed up and the Germans and Americans had a great last Weekend-day together.
At some point Mr. Braun started giving out Lollipops which he still had left from Halloween, and a little Sibling of one of the Americans went around with the big bag and handed them out to all the Students and Teachers.
Since all the Germans loved them so much, they were gone in just an hour.
Then some Germans started a Piggy-back-ride-race which was a big success. Participants were Nina, Zita, Sarah, Yaren, Marc and Moritz. They made three races with changing their partners at each. Winner of two races was "horse" Moritz with his jockeys, one time Marc won and Yaren lost all of them. I think we can speak for everyone if we say we enjoyed the food and ate till we were all very full. Everyone stood in a queue just to wait for Mr. Braun´s incredible Hot Dogs and Burgers.
The day ended well and everybody took a great experience from this.
